Africa has always been a source of inspiration for European artists. This is valid for visual artists and musicians as well as fashion designers. Gafricom brings this wealth of colour, materials and art to the Gateshead community. Shining examples abound, such as the vibrant colour combinations, dazzling patterns, rich fabrics, fabulous headgear and elegant gowns we have seen in Gateshead. Most rercently, Gateshead Civic Centre was host to the Gafricom Culture Event Day. Visitors were treated to an outstanding fashion Show featuring the creations of African designers.
